From Sheep Meadow Press

Her poetry is visceral: ‘the blood of poetry’ and praise runs through Dolores is Blue/Dolorez is Blues. Like jazz, sorrow transforms itself into joy. She is bookwise, streetwise, cool metaphysical. Her poetry has a backbeat, something of the melody and phrasing of field hollers and church music: a deep, moral undersong. She sings unto others as she would have them sing unto her.
